Top O’Topanga residents are welcome to participate in the Native Plant Propagation program. Our focus is to revitalize our slopes with stabilizing, environmentally friendly native plants. See the list of plants needed on our slopes . All the plants on the list (except for oaks) can be propagated with stem cuttings using the instructions below (start around 5:18)!

Total Time: 4-1/2 weeks
Materials:
- Plant stems (gathered in fall mornings)
- Small pruning shears or blade
- Rooting hormone powder and chopstick/pencil
- Six-pack cutting containers or other small containers
- Humidity dome or plastic bag, chopsticks/pencils, and twist tie
- Perlite
- Potting mix and small containers
- Water
